The Birthday Girl
9 June 2010
So, we celebrated the 4 year olds birthday today. She was literally given anything she wanted. But the time I got home, she'd devoured the tops of two cupcakes, had a dozen dum-dums lollipops, had chewed through an entire pack of bubble gum, and had gotten a hold of the sitter's soda and drank most of it. Needless to say, she was flying and nearly bullet-proof. By the time dinner came around, she could barely cope. My eldest was teasing her, so she said, "you should go to sleep and not wake up." It wasn't funny, but my eldest daughter was eating a wedge of watermelon, which then shot out of her nose she was laughing so hard. Of course, that made the 4 year old laugh, so she started babbling more nonsense. Eventually, we were all laughing so hard that we couldn't eat any more. She ran around in a circle for about half an hour. Just, running. And she sang herself a few songs which she improvised on the spot... "toothbrush, toothbrush,.. teethies, and my toothbrush...." "llaaaaa laa la laaaaaaaa, OOOOOOO" and "singing singing, la la la singing, sleepy time cookies laa laa laaa" Abruptly the singing stopped. I looked into the living room, and she was there,.... sitting upright on the futon, with her toothbrush in her hand, toothpaste everywhere, out cold.
Happy Birthday Kiddo,...mommy loves you!
